It Started With a Phone
When phone companies started retiring landlines, millions of seniors across America were handed smartphones and told to figure it out. No training. No guidance. No one to call who wouldn't put them on hold for 45 minutes.
John's mother was one of them. She got a new smartphone. Nobody taught her how to use it. Her family — well-meaning but impatient — would tease her for not figuring it out faster. John works in IT and cybersecurity. He knew more about technology than almost anyone around him. And he realized, with real shame, that he had never thought to sit down and help her either.
At the same time, he was watching scam after scam target the people least equipped to spot them. Fake calls from the “IRS.” Phishing emails that looked like they came from a bank. Gift card schemes that cost seniors thousands of dollars before anyone noticed. His career in federal cybersecurity meant he knew exactly how these attacks worked — and how preventable they were, if someone patient was standing by.
That's why Senior Tech Care does both: we help seniors use their technology with confidence, and we protect them from the scams and fraud that target them every day. No senior should have to figure out either one alone.

District Tech Group is a local DC Metro technology company. Our background is in IT and cybersecurity — which means we understand not just how devices work, but how to keep them safe and protected from the scams and threats seniors encounter every day.
That dual expertise shapes everything we do. Our tech support is built on the same security-first mindset that drives our scam & fraud protection — a real person to call before you answer, click, or pay, and patient help with everyday technology.
Our team is entirely local. We live and work in the DC Metro area. We specialize in working with older adults because we believe seniors deserve patient, trustworthy help that respects their time and intelligence.
We are not a call center. We are not a franchise. We are local people who genuinely care about the community we serve.

In addition to individual seniors and families, we partner with senior living communities across the DC Metro area to deliver ongoing technology education, scam & fraud protection, and hands-on support. Our Resident Tech Care Program provides recurring workshops, in-person support hours for tech and scam issues, and monthly leadership reports — designed to reduce staff burden and give residents someone they can trust.
